Chef / Cook

We are now seeking a capable and motivated Chef or Cook to join our kitchen crew.

This role will be perfect for you if you want to work with lovely people in a beautiful space, if you want to learn and if you’d like a real development pathway. We work in an open kitchen, we have high standards and we get super busy. We are seeking someone with experience in a busy kitchen, who can work efficiently through their prep and relishes a bustling service. You will need to be well presented, organised, show initiative, and work well under pressure. We are open to candidates seeking casual, part time or full time work depending on experience.

What you will bring:

• More than two years experience in a professional kitchen in a similar role
• A love of multi-tasking and the drive to create the most efficient way of completing your tasks
• A desire to develop in different areas of the kitchen, including baking

Beverage Lead

Would you like to work in hospitality with a difference? We are now seeking a dedicated hospitality professional to oversee our coffee and beverage program! 

This is a dynamic role working across our Cafe Restaurant as well as our Grocer Coffee Bar. You will have the opportunity to advance your leadership skills and take your career to the next level, while working in a beautiful space with delicious produce and the very loveliest people.

We are committed to offering the highest quality in coffee, tea, wine and more. We work with Dukes Coffee special CIBI roasts, and make many of our teas in house. You will have high potential for creative input and freedom to craft our offering.

This is a service-based role, with responsibility for maintaining and developing our full beverage program and beverage team. You will be comfortable training staff to produce benchmark standard coffee and tea, every time. You will be encouraged to throw yourself into developing new drinks, made in house with local, seasonal produce.

We are looking for an excellent communicator and leader, able to effect menu and procedural changes and provide feedback with kindness to encourage your team. Ideally you will have:

• Minimum 3 years working in coffee, including producing high quality coffee in a fast paced environment;
• Knowledge and interest in wine, beer and food;
• Understanding and a proactive approach to maintaining coffee equipment and stock;
• Proven leadership skills and a drive for personal development.

You'll be working with beautiful products that give joy, and you'll have opportunities to learn about the makers. A bit about you:

• You love making customers happy!
• You have experience delivering calm, quality customer service in a quick-paced retail environment.

• You have an awareness of Japanese culture, appreciate great design and artisanal products, and are eager to learn product knowledge.

 Your experience will include:

• At least 3 years of proven excellence in customer service and sales.
