*CIBI Cafe Restaurant Manager

Location: CIBI Cafe Restaurant and Coffee Bar  

The CIBI story has been passionate abour 17 years long! This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and talented Front of House Manager to take a serious next step in their career, while at the same time preserving a healthy work life balance with cafe daytime hours. This is an opportunity to work in a professional and visionary environment without the late nights.

As Cafe Restaurant Manager, you will lead our team, elevate service standards, and play a central role in our growing community. More than managing the cafe floor, you’ll collaborate with our retail, events, and marketing teams in Melbourne and Tokyo. Working closely with the General Manager, Kitchen Manager, Retail Manager, CEO and Creative Director, you’ll help deliver an exceptional experience for customers across the world.

We’re looking for someone who:

・Has 1.5+ years of leadership experience in a high-service-quality environment
・Has managed and motivated teams of 5+ staff
・Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and leads by example
・Enjoy growing, challenging and achieving
・Is passionate about team development, training, and outstanding service
・Has strong operational skills: rostering, financial oversight
・Enjoys fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and community spirit
・Curious about working at CIBI Tokyo or CIBI Okayama in the future
・Has an interest in Japanese food and culture

Key responsibilities include:

・Leading, mentoring, and developing the front and barista team
・Ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional customer experience
・Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance reviews
・Driving engagement and maintaining a positive workplace culture
・Collaborating with other managers on sales, events, and progress
・Managing financial targets: Sales, Wages, COGS
・Upholding compliance, safety, and sustainability standards

・Flexible availability including weekends

*Design Store Seasonal Retail Assistant

Location: CIBI Design Store (Collingwood, Melbourne)

The CIBI Design Store shares CIBI’s lifestyle through beautiful design, thoughtful products, and everyday encounters with our community. Here, you will support customers to discover unique seasonal items and learn the stories of the makers behind them.

Who we are looking for:

・Someone who resonates with CIBI’s mission and wants to grow together with us
・Enjoys teamwork and contributing to collective goals
・Interested in design, craftsmanship, and storytelling
・Calm, proactive, and efficient (retail experience preferred)
・Available from October/November through the holiday season, including weekends
・Curious about working at CIBI Tokyo or CIBI Okayama in the future
・Comfortable engaging with customers
・Retail or customer service experience is highly regarded
・Has positive and proactive communication skills

Location: CIBI Open Kitchen

CIBI’s open kitchen is the heart of our space. A place where delicious food and human connection come together. We value communication, creativity, and teamwork not only within the kitchen but also with our Retail and Front of House teams.

Who we are looking for:

・Enjoys working in a team and contributing positively, even during busy times
・Values quality, care, and precision in food preparation
・Interested in Japanese food culture and seasonal ingredients

・Has experience working in a professional kitchen
・Strong multitasking skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure
・Enjoys from cooking to baking and beyond
