A group of three students serendipitously met at the very first Tendo Woodwork Furniture Design Competition in 1960 held by Tendo Mokko. Banding together they challenged themselves to design a stool. They used paper to model instead of sketching the design of the plywood-based furniture piece and won the competition with their unique design. However, it wasn't put into production until 40 years after in 2003.
