A two-layer tabi sock knitted with 100% silk on the inside and 100% linen on the outside. Breathable, light and smooth on the skin, they’re a comfortable pair to wear even in the warmer months.
In this latest version, the elastic yarn (the stretchy backing yarn used in socks) has been moved to the outer layer, so only silk touches your skin. And while toe socks usually have a terry-knit lining, these are knitted flat to keep them thin and light.
The silk gently absorbs moisture, and the linen outer layer quickly releases it, keeping your feet feeling fresh and dry. Linen also dries quickly and is less prone to bacteria, making it an ideal choice for summer.
The Tabi design separates the big toe from the remaining toes, supporting a more natural distribution of weight through the foot. Traditionally, this is said to encourage better posture and balance by allowing the foot to function as it was intended. The design may also help engage the muscles that support the foot’s natural arch, contributing to overall foot comfort.
Gluck und Gute has refined the shape through repeated prototyping to ensure the split-toe construction feels as comfortable as possible. While those new to Tabi socks may notice a different sensation at first, the fabric softens and moulds to the foot with wear and washing.
