OSOZAI is going on tour!
Following our Melbourne launch and a wonderful few days in Sydney, we’re very excited to take OSOZAI — Everyday Japanese Home Cooking on the road.
Over the coming weeks, OSOZAI will travel from Australia to Japan, London, Paris and the South of France — with special launches, pop-ups and collaborations along the way.

Ahead of the wider Japan release in early October, we’re celebrating OSOZAI with a special pre-launch evening at CIBI Tokyo Store.
Join author and CIBI co-founder Meg Tanaka for an evening sharing the stories behind OSOZAI, Japanese home cooking and the everyday food at the heart of CIBI. We’ll also be sharing a selection of dishes from the book for guests to taste.
The celebration continues across CIBI Japan, with a special OSOZAI menu at CIBI Okayama and an OSOZAI salad special at CIBI Corner Store Kitasando.

For one special week, CIBI and KOYA come together around OSOZAI.
From 2–9 October, KOYA will be serving dishes from the OSOZAI cookbook as specials on their menu.

Meg & Zenta will be at KOYA City to meet you and sign copies of OSOZAI.
Copies of OSOZAI will also be available to purchase at KOYA throughout the week, while stocks last.

CIBI AT DEJIMA

From London, we cross over to Paris for a three-day CIBI pop-up at DEJIMA in the Marais.
We’ll bring a little CIBI world to Paris — OSOZAI alongside a selection of CIBI favourites, Japanese everyday objects and special pieces chosen for the pop-up.

Our OSOZAI journey then heads south to the Basque coast for CIBI at YA O YA.
Under the theme 日本のお台所 — the Japanese kitchen, we’ll take over YA O YA with OSOZAI, everyday objects for the Japanese kitchen and a selection of CIBI favourites.

What a wonderful start to our OSOZAI Book Tour!
We celebrated the Australian release of OSOZAI — Everyday Japanese Home Cooking at home at CIBI Melbourne, surrounded by so many familiar faces, CIBI friends and people who have been part of our journey over the years.
Around 180 people joined us for the evening, filling CIBI with such a wonderful energy. It was very special to finally share the book, the food and the stories behind OSOZAI together.
And then we hit the road!
Around Melbourne, we visited bookstores for signings — meeting booksellers, seeing OSOZAI on their shelves and talking about the book with people outside the CIBI world.
Thank you to Kinokuniya Melbourne, Dymocks Collins Street, Avenue Bookstore Albert Park, Brunswick Bound and the Convent bookshop for welcoming us so warmly.

Next stop was Sydney, and what a great couple of days!
We kicked things off at Kinokuniya Sydney on George Street, where Meg was in conversation with the wonderful Benjamin Law.
It was such a fun evening sharing OSOZAI and the CIBI story with a room full of CIBI friends, Japanese food lovers and new faces.
And over two days in Sydney, we visited bookstores across the city — from small neighbourhood independents to some of the city's larger booksellers.
Constant Reader, Gleebooks, Potts Point Bookshop, Ariel Booksellers, Dymocks George Street, Dymocks Chatswood, Harry Hartog Chatswood, Abbey’s and Kinokuniya Chatswood — thank you so much for welcoming us!
Talking directly with booksellers about OSOZAI has been a completely new experience for us. Seeing the book on shelves, signing copies and hearing such positive responses has made us even more excited about where OSOZAI might travel next.
Taking OSOZAI outside CIBI and connecting with new people through the book has been one of the loveliest parts of this journey.
