Designed for comfort in every season, the Barnacle WATAKAMI Light socks combine two thoughtfully developed Japanese yarns to create a pair that feels light, breathable and stays comfortably in place throughout the day.
The socks are knitted using a blend of KAMI yarn—made from finely cut and twisted Japanese washi paper—and strong-twist recycled cotton, spun from reclaimed cotton fibres in Shimane. The washi paper yarn feels crisp and dry against the skin, while the high-twist recycled cotton offers a smooth, powder-soft touch for everyday comfort. Together, they create a breathable sock that's comfortable to wear throughout the year.
A special Triple Gore Line construction, developed on a modified vintage low-gauge knitting machine in Nara Prefecture, creates extra shaping through the instep as well as the heel and toe. This unique structure gently hugs the foot, helping the socks stay securely in place without feeling tight.
Finished with deodorising stretch yarn in the lining, these socks are breathable, comfortable and made for everyday wear—whether at home or out exploring.
