CIBI is excited to welcome Tomoko Tsukui from Japan for a weekend of stamp workshops. Tomoko is one of pionieers and gru of making Japanese rubber stamps "Keshigomu-hanko" and has authored multiple books exploring hand made stamp making and their use within contemporary Japan.

What: Be guided through the art of Japanese rubber stamp making with insights into the role of illustration, graphic design and traditional carving techniques. This hands on workshop will see you creating your own imagery to be transferred onto rubber blocks. Tomoko will introduce you to multiple traditional carving tools and excitingly how to bring your design to life through its application across various mediums including paper.
Fee: $85 pp
Material provided include; rubber blocks, carving tools, pencils, paper and printing pads Participants are most welcome to bring illustrations and or imagery they may wish to use as source material for their stamps.
